Silva joins Mental Health Association's team

Mary Silva has been hired by the Mental Health Association in Indian River County as development and special events manager at the association's Walk-In & Counseling Center.

Silva will be the lead for the association's 2018 Brew-2-Brew Half Marathon, which is its main fundraiser for 2018, along with the Shamrock Shindig After Party that will follow the run.

Silva is a native Floridian and a graduate of the University of Florida. She started her career by practicing law for 15 years before entering the nonprofit world. She comes to the Mental Health Association with 13 years experience as an executive director in the nonprofit industry.

Silva said she is honored to join the Mental Health Association, an organization committed to excellence with the promise to operate a model agency for mental health care while sustaining a superb staff and facilities and administering the agency to the highest standards of innovation and professionalism.

In addition to her current position, she also will be a contributing member of the Fund Development Committee and the Marketing & Communications Committee.

The Mental Health Association in Indian River County Walk-In & Counseling Center, 820 37th Place in Vero Beach, offers individuals experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition, free mental health screening, crisis intervention services, and information and/or referral about how to address their mental health issues.

The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Psychotherapy, group therapy, case management, and psychiatry services also are available for clients seeking ongoing mental health services on an appointment basis at the center.
