Free meals and deals for vets and military members on Veterans Day

Nov. 02--To honor and thank veterans and military personnel for their sacrifice and service, multiple businesses around North Texas will be offering special promotions on Veterans Day (Nov. 11). The deals, which range from free meals to free haircuts, can be claimed with a valid military ID or other proof of service.

The list of participating businesses includes:

El Fenix (Multiple locations)

All active-duty and retired members of the U.S. military who stop by El Fenix on Nov. 11 will receive a complimentary meal of their choice from a special veterans menu. Entrees on the menu include enchiladas (cheese, sour cream chicken or seasoned chicken), beef tacos and tamales (beef, chicken verde or pork adobado). Dine-in only. National Videogame Museum (Frisco)

Main Event (Multiple locations)

Veterans and active-duty military members are invited to drop by any location of Main Event on Veterans Day from open until 5 p.m. to play games and eat for free. The promotion includes a complimentary $10 FUNCard valid on all Main Event games, plus a choice of one free entree from a special Veterans Day menu. Valid military ID or proof of service required. Cici's Pizza (Multiple locations)

Great Clips (Multiple locations)

Great Clips encourages veterans and current military members to stop by on Veterans Day for a free haircut or to pick up a free haircut voucher to use at a later date. Applebee's (Multiple locations)

Seafood chain Red Lobster is offering veterans and active-duty military members a free appetizer or dessert of their choice on Veterans Day.
